New York Finger Lakes Bed and Breakfast Receives Prestigious Award

Vintage Gardens Bed and Breakfast, – Newark, NY – has been acknowledged as a Star of the Industry and named the New York Bed & Breakfast/Inn of Distinction 2017.  Owners, Michael and Kimberlee Meeks were presented with the award, by New York State Hospitality and Tourism Association at a special event luncheon on October 16th.

The award recognizes a New York State Bed and Breakfast/Inn property that demonstrates exceptional guest relations, community involvement, architectural excellence and distinction; reflects historical preservation; serves as an ambassador for the B&B segment of the lodging industry; and plays an integral role in promoting the local tourism economy. 

Vintage Gardens Bed and Breakfast is located two blocks from the Erie Canal in  the New York Finger Lakes region.  This unique property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and is rich in the history of American hybrid roses.   Formerly the ‘Jackson & Perkins Rose Company Estate,’ the historic 1840’s Tudor boasts formal gardens, woodlands and is tastefully furnished with antiques.

“The historic property is impressive and the Meeks are great stewards of the estate. Their attention to detail shows in both the gardens and the restoration of the home,” said Christine Worth Executive Director of Wayne County Office of Tourism. “I have had plenty of opportunities to observe guest relations at Vintage Gardens and their hospitality is exceptional.”

Since opening the Bed and Breakfast in 2006 Vintage Gardens Bed and Breakfast has received hundreds of complimentary guest reviews with a 4 to 5 star ratings on leading Bed and Breakfast and Travel websites.

The Meeks strive to provide the highest level of hospitality and guest experience while preserving and promoting the unique historical and environmentally sensitive nature of their property and the region.  Michael and Kimberlee practice and are committed to sustainability: When possible they grow it in their garden, or they purchase from local farmers and work with the local business community.

“We love what we do and it is a true honor to be recognized for this prestigious award,” said Kimberlee Meeks.
